Police Investigate Fatal Shooting of Man in Paterson, New Jersey
Paterson law enforcement is investigating a fatal shooting on a street in Paterson, New Jersey. The Paterson Police Department received a report of gunshots being fired in the area of the 300 block of 12th Avenue at around 8:40 p.m. Paterson cops were dispatched to the scene, where they found the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Tragically, neither police nor emergency medical responders were able to do anything to save the shooting victim s life. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the violent crime. Authorities later identified the victim as 37-year-old Keyantay Deas of Paterson, New Jersey.
Law enforcement officials have not yet identified a suspect in the homicide. Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Deputy Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora issued a joint news release about the case and stated that the two agencies are working together and actively investigating the killing.
