Paterson NJ police are searching for a killer who allegedly murdered someone on a local street.
The fatal shooting occurred around 4:00 p.m. near the intersection of Essex Street and Madison Street in Paterson, New Jersey.
Paramedics rushed the shooting victim to St. Joseph s Regional Medical Center in Paterson NJ, where doctors tried to save his life. Tragically, doctors were unable to help the victim; he was pronounced dead approximately three hours after being shot on Essex Street.
Paterson NJ police detectives are actively investigating the fatal shooting and trying to determine the identity of the person responsible.
If and when authorities can identify and capture the shooting suspect, that individual would likely face very serious criminal charges for first degree murder and weapons offenses.
A conviction on the murder charges could lead to a sentence of life imprisonment in New Jersey State Prison, with a minimum mandatory term of incarceration of 30 years.
