A Paterson NJ man faces murder charges, along with his brother, for the fatal shooting of someone on a city street.
The suspect is a 27-year-old resident of Paterson in Passaic County, New Jersey. His brother, a 30-year-old Paterson firefighter, was already charged in connection with the homicide.
According to Passaic County prosecutors, the suspect served as the getaway driver for his brother and helped his brother flee the scene of the fatal attack.
The suspect s brother allegedly got into an altercation with the victim, a 39-year-old Paterson man, near the intersection of Essex Street and Madison Street in Paterson, NJ.
The Paterson Police Department sent police officers to the area after receiving a report of gunshots fired.
The victim was rushed to an area hospital, but he did not survive his gunshot wounds.
Paterson NJ detectives initially identified the brother as the shooter and placed him under arrest just two days after the shooting incident.
Now the suspect has also been arrested for the homicide. Paterson cops apprehended him at a home located on North 7th Street in Paterson, New Jersey.
The suspect has been charged with several crimes, including first degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and criminal weapons offenses for unlawful possession of a weapon.
