Teaneck man arrested after running red light in stolen car, police say

A man from Teaneck ran a red light in the town on Wednesday morning while driving in a stolen car before leading police on a chase on Route 4, authorities said.
The Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Police Services Bureau arrested Shawne Wolfe, 28, at about 4 a.m., Anthony Cureton, a spokesman for the sheriff, said.
Officer Matt Bartlett saw Wolfe run a red light in the stolen vehicle at about 2:30 a.m. in Fort Lee, Cureton said. Barlett tried to stop him, but Wolfe drove off, heading west on Route 4 before exiting on Teaneck Road.
Wolfe got out of the car on Bogert Street and fled on foot through back yards, Cureton said. He was eventually arrested at his home.
Wolfe was charged with eluding, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, obstruction of justice and resisting arrest. He was sent to Bergen County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
