According to the Morris County Prosecutor s Office, the drug ring included several people who imported heroin and cocaine from Passaic County so that they could sell the drugs in Morris County, including places like Morristown, Dover, and Victory Gardens.
Once officials with the Morris County Prosecutor s Office Special Enforcement Unit and the Morristown Police Department became aware of the illegal drug activity, they opened an investigation. The two suspects allegedly purchased the drugs, which included large quantities of heroin and cocaine, from a 47-year-old woman who lived in Clifton, New Jersey.
NJ authorities shut down the drug operation after obtaining search warrants and arrest warrants for the suspects. The warrants were served throughout Passaic County and Morris County.
The drug raids, which were conducted by Morris County law enforcement and Passaic County police, resulted in the arrests of 24 people. Among those arrested by police were several alleged drug dealers and their customers.
Additionally, police allegedly seized in excess of 1,400 folds of heroin, 55 grams of cocaine, and a large amount of drug paraphernalia. Beyond that, police reportedly seized more than $33,000 in cash that is believed to be the proceeds of many drug deals.
