Paterson NJ police arrested a second person wanted in connection with a non-fatal shooting in early February.
According to law enforcement, the 26-year-old Passaic NJ man was involved in a shooting that resulted in a 28-year-old woman sustaining a gunshot wound to her leg.
The victim later checked herself into St. Joseph s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. She spoke with police and said that she had been shot near the intersection of Haledon Avenue and North 7th Street in Paterson, NJ.
The Paterson Police Department and the Passaic County Prosecutor s Office collaborated on a joint investigation into the shooting.
Just a few days after the shooting, investigators caught a break when the alleged shooter turned himself over to NJ state parole officials. The shooting suspect, a 28-year-old man from Paterson, New Jersey, was on parole at the time of the violent incident.
After surrendering to authorities, the main suspect was charged with several crimes, including aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and a certain persons offense for being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.
Now the other suspect in the shooting has been arrested. The suspect was apprehended while Passaic NJ police officers conducted a routine traffic stop and learned that he was wanted by detectives in Paterson.
The second suspect has been charged with multiple criminal offenses, including unlawful possession of a weapon and tampering with evidence.
