North Jersey law enforcement is trying to find a Passaic NJ woman accused of pickpocketing a number of women in grocery stores.
The suspect has been identified by authorities as a 47-year-old resident of Passaic, New Jersey. She also reportedly used to live in Lodi, NJ.
According to Clifton NJ police officials, the suspect was responsible for five pickpocket thefts and credit card fraud in different parts of North Jersey. The suspect allegedly targeted women who went to grocery stores and placed their purses in shopping carts while walking around. When the victims were not looking, the suspect would allegedly grab wallets from their purses and then quickly exit the building.
The suspect reportedly tried to conceal her identity by covering her head and face with hats or scarves.
Several warrants have been issued for the suspect s arrest. If police can eventually capture the theft crime suspect, she would probably face criminal charges for theft of movable property.
Any members of the public with information about the suspect should get in touch with Clifton NJ detectives at 973-470-5908.
