Man attacked with mechanical drill in Paterson, police say

In Paterson city, a man standing outside with some acquaintances on 14th Ave. was beaten with a mechanical drill. He was punched in the face and attacked with the drill on Monday night, according to Paterson Police Department.

The victim told police that he knew the assailant, as Easy , and he pulled up to the group around 9:30 p.m. Monday, near East 28th and East 29th Streets. The assailant got out of the car and began making threats, according to the police.

Police said the attacker punched the man in the face, pulled the drill from his trunk and hit him on the back of his head with the tool, police said in a statement. He also used the drill to damage the victim’s car.

Police said the attacker fled the scene and the victim was was treated at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 5-foot-9, about 20 to 30 years old, 160 pounds wearing a white thermal shirt and blue jeans.
