A former nurse in Paterson NJ faces sexual assault charges in Middlesex County after he allegedly assaulted two people.
The suspect is a 29-year-old man who lives in Perth Amboy and serves as a registered nurse at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. He previously worked as a nurse at St. Joseph s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey.
According to Middlesex County prosecutors, the suspect committed the sex crimes against two patients at the New Brunswick medical facility.
One of the victims was a 74-year-old woman who had gone to the emergency room for urgent medical care. The other victim was reportedly a 49-year-old woman who went to the hospital for unspecified medical treatment.
The suspect has been charged with multiple sexual offenses, including second degree sexual assault, fourth degree criminal sexual contact, and lewdness. If the suspect is ultimately convicted, or pleads guilty, he could potentially be sentenced to a lengthy term of incarceration in New Jersey State Prison. Moreover, he could be subject to Megan s Law sex offender registration requirements because he allegedly committed felony-level sexual offenses.
While the criminal charges against the suspect remain pending, he has been suspended from his nursing position in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
