Police in Clifton NJ are investigating a recent accident that reportedly involved a pedestrian being struck by a careless driver.
The Clifton Police Department received a call about a car crash around 12:10 a.m. According to authorities, the auto accident occurred near the intersection of Crook Avenue and Trenton Avenue in Clifton, New Jersey.
The victim was attempting to walk across the street when he was allegedly struck by a 2007 Lexus.
The driver of the Lexus was reportedly a 19-year-old Clifton NJ man.
The victim is a resident of Clifton, NJ. After being hit by the motor vehicle, he was rushed to St. Joseph s Regional Medical Center in Paterson and treated for his accident-related injuries.
Detectives with the Clifton Police Department and the Passaic County Prosecutor s Office are actively investigating the crash.
At this time, Clifton detectives have not specified whether the motorist was under suspicion of being drunk while driving. Depending on the outcome of the official police investigation into the auto accident, it s possible that the suspect could be charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).
