A convicted sex offender was recently arrested in Bloomingdale New Jersey and charged with distribution of child pornography.
The suspect is a 41-year-old resident of Bloomingdale, NJ. He was previously convicted of aggravated sexual assault and ordered to register as a sex offender under Megan s Law.
The terms of the suspect s sentence for the earlier aggravated sexual assault conviction required him to register as a sex offender, stay off the Internet, and be subject to parole supervision for the rest of his life.
The Passaic County Sheriff s Office learned that the suspect may have been storing illegal sexual images of juveniles on his personal computer, so law enforcement opened an investigation. Police officers eventually executed a search warrant at the suspect s Bloomingdale NJ resident and allegedly found 10 files with videos featuring child pornography.
The suspect has now been charged with multiple sex crimes, including distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography.
After being arrested and processed, the suspect was transported to the Passaic County Jail in Paterson, NJ.
