Bloomingdale NJ Man Allegedly Drunk When He Crashed Car on Kinnelon Road

Bloomingdale NJ Drunk Driving AttorneysPolice arrested a Bloomingdale man accused of driving drunk and caused a car accident in Kinnelon, New Jersey.

The auto accident occurred around 11:19 p.m. on Route 23 in Kinnelon, NJ. According to officials, the suspect was operating a blue 2014 Subaru Legacy when he crashed into the back of a silver 2017 Kia Sportage that was also on the highway. The force of impact resulted in the Kia striking a guardrail on the roadway and overturning, while the suspect s vehicle went off the road and slammed into a telephone pole before overturning.

Three people in the other car sustained injuries as a result of the DWI accident. They were later taken to nearby hospitals and treated for their accident-related injuries. The driver, a 48-year-old man from Vernon NJ, went to Chilton Medical Center so that he could receive medical treatment for severe back pain stemming from the car crash. Meanwhile, a 35-year-old Parsippany woman and a 35-year-old Parsippany man who were passengers in the car received medical treatment at St. Joseph s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. Their injuries, which included back pain and small cuts on their hands and faces, were reportedly considered minor.

The suspect, a 23-year-old Bloomingdale man, was initially transported to St. Joseph s Regional Medical Center in Paterson so that he could be treated for his own minor injuries. He was later taken into police custody and placed under arrest.

The suspect has been charged with multiple crimes, including aggravated assault by auto and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Although this sort of weapons offense is typically reserved for suspects accused of using a handgun or other type of firearm, in this case prosecutors decided to charge the suspect with the crime for allegedly using his motor vehicle as a deadly weapon.

Additionally, the suspect has also been cited for numerous traffic violations, including Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).
