Man Caught with Machine Guns in Ringwood NJ Sentenced to Prison

Ringwood NJ Weapons Offense LawyersA Ringwood NJ man is headed to federal prison after he pleaded guilty to numerous weapons offenses, including illegal possession of machine guns.

The suspect is a 36-year-old man from Ringwood in Passaic County, New Jersey. He was placed under arrest in July 2015 after law enforcement allegedly discovered a cache of firearms hidden in a room at his residence on Skyline Drive in Ringwood, NJ.

Police officers went to the suspect s home because they needed to serve a temporary restraining order (TRO). While subsequently searching the house, detectives reportedly found the bunker filled with machine guns, an automatic grenade launcher, and high-capacity ammunition magazines. Police reportedly seized a total of 80 firearms.

The suspect was charged with numerous counts of unlawful possession of a weapon. He ultimately avoided trial in the case by reaching a plea deal with federal prosecutors.

Now the suspect has been sentenced on the criminal charges, with a U.S. District Court judge approving the plea agreement. He recently appeared in US District Court in Newark NJ and was sentenced to a term of incarceration of two years in a federal penitentiary.

Additionally, the suspect agreed to forfeit his weapons to the State.
