Paterson New Jersey law enforcement is searching for a suspect in a recent armed robbery that resulted in significant injuries to one person.
The violent theft crime occurred around 10:00 p.m. on Sunday on the 500 block of River Street in Paterson, NJ. According to officials, the victim was walking along River Street when a stranger approached him and asked for spare change.
As the victim turned his head away, the suspect allegedly removed a knife from his coat pocket and stabbed the victim. The suspect then reportedly ran away and fled the scene on foot.
Meanwhile, the victim dialed 911 and alerted the Paterson Police Department. The victim was later treated for his knife wound at an area hospital.
If and when police can identify and apprehend the person responsible for the violent crime, he would likely face criminal charges for aggravated assault, armed robbery, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
