A man
from Wallington was recently arrested in an undercover drug operation during which he allegedly planned to sell heroin and oxycodone to undercover narcotics investigators.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli, 35-year-old Wallington resident Tomasz Magdziak sold heroin to undercover narcotics detectives in the course of several transactions that occurred in Wallington and Passaic in April and May.
He was arrested last week in Passaic during an arranged drug transaction with a detective who was planning to purchase heroin and oxycodone. At the time of the arrest, Magdziak was reportedly discovered in possession of 170 oxycodone pills, the value of which has been estimated at $5,000.
Magdziak was subsequently charged with heroin distribution and possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute. He was being held at the Bergen County Jail with bail set at $30,000.
Among the crimes for which he is accused, possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute is classified as a second degree crime if the offense involves 100 or more units or pills. Under N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10.5, these offenses are punishable by a term of incarceration ranging from 5 to 10 years, as well as a fine of up to $300,000.
