In what proved to be a busy weekend for the Englewood Police Department, two separate domestic violence incidents resulting in the filing of criminal charges.
In the first incident that occurred on Friday evening, Tommy Dean, a 56-year old resident of the City of Englewood (pictured left), allegedly threw a chair at his wife’s head during an argument. Thankfully, he missed. But he then took $8,000 worth of her jewelry, threatened to kill her, and left. Police responded to the scene and spoke with Dean’s 52-year old wife. They took Dean into custody when he attempted to return home on Saturday.
Dean has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats, and Theft and sent to the Bergen County jail in lieu of $16,500 bail.
The second (separate) incident involved Tremaine Alston, a 35-year old resident of the City of Englewood (pictured right), who (according to his girlfriend) threw a flat-screen TV in a drunken rage. The TV struck Alston’s 15-year old daughter in the leg, causing injuries. Alson has been charged with Child Abuse andCriminal Mischief. He fled the scene before police arrived and remains at large.
