In Paterson a woman is charged with the murder in the stabbing death of her boyfriend after the wounded man told police she attacked him, authorities said Wednesday.
Police and emergency medical crews were called to a stabbing and found Johnny Holley, 56, around 10:30 p.m. Saturday bleeding on the sidewalk outside the Market Street apartment he shared with his girlfriend, according to Detective Capt. Heriberto Rodriguez.
“Patrol Officers Ryan Duffy and William Niebank quickly spoke with the victim before he was transported from the scene, and in doing so, quickly obtained the suspect information and location,” Rodriguez said in a statement.
The officers immediately arrested Holley’s girlfriend, Ronda Wilson, 53, in the fourth-floor apartment, Rodriguez said.
Holley died around 11 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where he was being treated for a stab wound to his upper arm, the captain added.
Wilson faces murder and weapons possession charges after an investigation led by city Detective Ritchie Martinez, police said. Authorities did not disclose a motive in the slaying.
