Wayne Police Search for Man Who Allegedly Stole Rolex from Willowbrook Mall

Wayne NJ Theft SuspectWayne NJ police are searching for a man accused of stealing an expensive watch from a jewelry store at the Willowbrook Mall.

The theft incident occurred at around 1:45 p.m. According to authorities, the suspect entered Michael Anthony Jewelers at the Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, NJ and approached an employee. The man, who was wearing a medical lab coat, reportedly complained about having just finished a long shift at work.

The suspect told the jewelry store employee that he wanted to buy a watch for his birthday. He then asked to look at a Rolex Presidential Watch. Shortly after the clerk returned with the item, the suspect allegedly grabbed it and ran out of the store.

Witnesses at the mall told police that they saw the suspect run toward a Ford Fusion in the parking lot, get into the vehicle, and drive off. The car may have had Florida license plates.

The retail value of the stolen watch is $37,500.

If Wayne detectives are eventually able to determine the suspect s identity and capture him, he would likely face criminal charges for theft of movable property.
