Police in Wayne New Jersey are searching for a woman who allegedly stole a laptop computer from a local store.
The theft incident was committed a short time before 10:00 p.m., just before the store closed for the night. According to Wayne NJ authorities, the suspect took the computer from a business in a shopping plaza located on Hamburg Turnpike in Wayne, NJ.
The owner of the store contacted the Wayne Police Department to report the theft.
Wayne NJ police obtained video surveillance images from the business. The surveillance footage reportedly shows the suspect entering the store, walking around for a brief time, and then exiting the building with the laptop computer in her hands.
Wayne investigators have released the surveillance photos in the hope that someone will recognize the suspect.
Additionally, investigators have released a description of the suspect: she is said to be a woman standing approximately 5-feet-5-inches tall. She may be a teenager or a young adult. At the time of the theft, the suspect was wearing a long-sleeved blouse, dark shorts, and flip-flops on her feet.
If police can eventually identify and apprehend the suspect, she would likely face criminal charges for shoplifting.
