Wayne New Jersey police arrested three people after law enforcement allegedly found 44 bags of heroin, along with other illegal drugs, in a motor vehicle during a traffic stop.
A couple of Wayne patrol officers pulled over a 2007 Hyundai around 3:20 p.m. near the Kohl s department store located along the border of Wayne and Pequannock Township, NJ. According to authorities, the driver of the vehicle was speeding.
When the police officers approached the motor vehicle and talked to the driver, a 26-year-old woman from Sparta, they allegedly saw drug paraphernalia and an opened glassine bag of heroin inside the car.
A subsequent search of the car allegedly turned up 44 glassine bags of heroin hidden underneath a floorboard. Additionally, police reportedly discovered crack cocaine and a folding knife inside the vehicle.
The driver and two passengers were then placed under arrest.
The Sparta NJ woman has been charged with multiple drug crimes, including possession of heroin and possession of cocaine. She also faces charges for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) in a motor vehicle.
Meanwhile, the passengers a 39-year-old Montague NJ man and a 22-year-old Green Pond man have been charged with possession of cocaine.
After being arrested and charged, the suspects were moved to the Passaic County Jail in Paterson, NJ.
