Three Men Rob Paterson Grocery Store With Handgun

In Paterson a grocery store on Wednesday night was robbed by three men. The incidence occurred in the crime ridden 5th ward of the city. The employee inside the store was hit in the head with a gun and was one of the employees robbed as well. The three men entered the store around 8:30 pm at the corner of East 24th and 15th Avenue. One of the three suspects, had a handgun and hit an employee. They took money from the store and also took belongings from the other employees. There were also iPhones and a gold chain taken as well.

Under N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1 which is Robbery. Robbery is the use of force and use of a weapon as well to commit a theft. It involves inflicting bodily injury upon another person, It involves the act of threatening another with bodily injury. Robbery with the use of a deadly weapon will become a crime of the 1st degree. A person found guilty of a crime of the 1st degree is looking at 10 to 20 years in New Jersey State Prison.
