Englewood police are searching for a Teaneck woman accused of slashing a 31- year old Teaneck man in the face across from the city firehouse Thursday afternoon. According to police Tarasjah Virgo, 25 slashed the victim in the face across the face after a dispute over a social media post. The 31-year-old victim initially refused to cooperate with detectives investigating the Oct.30 attack, according to Detective Capt. Timothy Torell. The man changed his mind and opted to help police after realizing the extent of his facial injury.
Tarasjah Virgo, 25, argued with the victim at a West Palisade Avenue business after she made a post on Facebook about one of his relatives, Torell said. An argument ensued and Virgo allegedly pulled out some type of sharp weapon, slashed him across his face and fled the area, the captain said. City detectives charged Virgo with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, Torell added. She is aware police are searching for her in the slashing. We are urging her to surrender immediately, he said. Anyone with information about her whereabouts was urged to call city police or dial 9-1-1 if she is spotted. Torell said the weapon hasn t been recovered and Virgo should be considered armed and dangerous.
Witnesses in the area reported seeing a woman attack the man before fleeing in a car around 4 p.m. on William Street, Detective Capt. Timothy Torell said in an email.
