Suspect in Paterson NJ Shooting Apprehended by US Marshals

Paterson NJ Attempted Murder SuspectPolice in Paterson NJ recently arrested a local man accused of attempted murder in connection with a non-fatal shooting on a city street.

The shooting incident occurred late at night on September 27, 2016. According to authorities, the suspect used a handgun to fire several gunshots in the direction of the victim while the victim walked along 12th Avenue, near Rosa Parks Boulevard, in Paterson, New Jersey.

Afterwards, the victim transported himself to St. Joseph s Regional Medical Center in Paterson NJ so that he could receive medical treatment for a gunshot wound. Hospital workers notified law enforcement, which sent officers to the hospital to speak to the victim.

The Paterson Police Department, the Passaic County Prosecutor s Office, and the U.S. Marshals Service conducted a joint investigation and eventually determined the identity of the possible shooter. However, police were unable to locate the suspect for several months.

Now the suspect is in police custody after being tracked down by detectives with the U.S. Marshals Service Violent Crime Task Force. Task force members got a tip about the suspect s whereabouts and later found him in a cab on Park Avenue in Paterson, NJ. The suspect allegedly tried to flee the scene, but he was quickly apprehended by police.

The suspect is a 24-year-old resident of Paterson, New Jersey. He has been charged with multiple criminal offenses, including attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
