Paterson police are searching for a man they say repeatedly beat and sexually assaulted a woman Saturday afternoon.
Craig Hall, 23, is accused of dragging the woman into an abandoned home on Bloomfield Avenue, Capt. Heriberto Rodriguez said in a statement found on NJ.com
He then allegedly forced her into his apartment on the 800 block of Main Street, where the assaults continued.
Hall left the apartment briefly around 1:48 p.m., which allowed the victim to escape and contact police, according to Rodriguez.
She was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital to be treated for undisclosed injuries.
Police immediately focused their investigation on Hall, and he has been charged with various kidnapping and sexual assault charges, Rodriguez said.
At the time of the incident, he was wearing a red jersey with the number 8 on it, blue and white jeans, and white and green sneakers.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Paterson Police Department’s Major Crimes Division at (973) 321-1120 or (973) 523-TIPS.
All residents are also asked to use caution should they encounter Hall.
