A story found on NJ.com stated that, Paterson police are searching for a person who shot and wounded a 20-year-old man early Monday night.
Police responded to Wayne Avenue between Totowa Avenue and Henry Street around 5 p.m. and found the victim, a Prospect Park resident who had suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, said Det. Lt. Patrick Murray of the department s Ceasefire Unit.
The victim was apparently walking in the area when the assailant, described only as a male, approached him, produced a handgun and fired, Murray said. The shooter fled the scene on foot. The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.
Little else was known about the incident as of Monday night and the investigation was ongoing, Murray also said.
