Police Investigate Non-Fatal Shooting at Paterson NJ Residence

Paterson Aggravated Assault LawyersLaw enforcement is searching for a suspect who allegedly used a handgun to shoot someone at a private party in Paterson, New Jersey.

The shooting incident occurred just before 12:30 a.m. at a residence located near the intersection of 12th Avenue and Rosa Parks Boulevard in Paterson, NJ. The Paterson Police Department received a 911 call about gunshots being fired and immediately dispatched officers to the scene. When Paterson cops arrived at the residence, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

Emergency medical crews stabilized the victim at the scene and briefly treated him before taking him via ambulance to nearby St. Joseph s Regional Medical Center. Doctors at the Paterson NJ hospital provided additional medical treatment and later listed the victim in stable condition. The victim is said to be a 31-year-old man from Passaic, New Jersey.

Meanwhile, the Paterson Police Department investigated the non-fatal shooting incident and searched for a suspect. Paterson Police Director Jerry Speziale later issued a statement and said that law enforcement has spoken to witnesses at the scene of the shooting. It is believed that the violent altercation began with a verbal argument.

If investigators can eventually identify and locate the person responsible for the shooting, it is likely that the culprit would face criminal charges for aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
