Paterson NJ police are looking for a man who is believed to have committed at least three (3) robberies in Paterson this month.
Police believe that Jerson Vasallo robbed a Chinese restaurant on the 300-block of 21st Avenue in Paterson.
Mr. Vasallo is also wanted for a robbery on the 200-block of 17th Avenue and another robbery on the 200-block of Park Avenue.
According to authorities, Mr. Vasallo used a shotgun in two (2) of the robberies and a large kitchen knife in the other robbery.
Mr. Vasallo was charged with robbery and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
In New Jersey, robbery is addressed by N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1. As set forth by the statute, robbery can be classified as a first degree criminal offense if the actor used a deadly weapon during the robbery. If convicted of first degree robbery, Mr. Vasallo could face as many as 20 years in New Jersey State Prison.
Paterson police are also investigating Mr. Vasallo for at least three (3) other robberies.
