Police are searching for two people who allegedly shot and killed a Paterson NJ man on city street.
The fatal shooting happened around 2:00 a.m. this morning. According to authorities, two men were chasing after the victim on Broadway, near a McDonald s restaurant. The suspects allegedly fired gunshots in the direction of the victim, with at least one gunshot striking the victim and causing him to fall to the pavement.
A witness later spoke with police and said that the two men were threatening the victim and demanding that he hand over cash.
Emergency medical responders arrived at the scene shortly after the shooting and rushed the victim to nearby St. Joseph s Regional Medical Center. However, doctors were unable to save the victim; he was pronounced dead at the Paterson hospital.
Paterson police officers investigated the fatal shooting and identified the victim as a 33-year-old local man.
If Paterson NJ detectives can eventually identify and apprehend the shooting suspects, they could face criminal charges for murder, attempted robbery, and weapons offenses.
