Paterson NJ Police Employee Arrested, Charged with Distribution of Heroin

Paterson NJ Heroin Possession SuspectPassaic County authorities arrested a Paterson Police Department records clerk who was allegedly selling heroin out of her residence.

Passaic County Sheriff s Office detectives executed a search warrant and conducted a drug raid at the suspect s home, which is located on 12th Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey. Law enforcement began an investigation into the suspect after receiving a tip that she was distributing heroin from her house.

Passaic County narcotics detectives subsequently searched the residence and allegedly found 330 glassine envelopes filled with heroin. The seized heroin is believed to have a street value of approximately $1,250.

Additionally, Passaic County NJ police seized $1,808 in cash that is believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales.

The 42-year-old suspect works in the records office for the Paterson Police Department. She previously served as a Paterson NJ police dispatcher.

The suspect now faces a number of criminal charges, including possession of heroin with intent to distribute and possession of heroin.

Meanwhile, the Paterson Police Department is conducting an internal affairs investigation into the suspect. While the criminal charges remain pending, the suspect has been suspended without pay from her job. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, she could be terminated from employment with the law enforcement agency.
