Paterson NJ police recently arrested two people, a man and a woman, accused of shooting at a Harrison cop who was off duty.
According to law enforcement officials, the two suspects fired multiple gunshots at the victim while he walked in the area of Oak Street and Madison Street in Paterson, New Jersey. After allegedly firing the gunshots, the suspects left the roadway and crashed their motor vehicle into a nearby house.
The male suspect remained at the scene because he suffered significant physical injuries in the car crash, while the female suspect reportedly fled on foot. Paterson NJ cops later arrested the male suspect. The female suspect was apprehended a short time later.
Thankfully, the off-duty police officer did not sustain any injuries during the shooting incident.
The suspects are a 21-year-old Bronx NY man and a 21-year-old Paterson NJ woman. They both face serious criminal charges for attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
After being arrested, charged, and processed, the suspects were taken to the Passaic County Jail. The male suspect was being held at the jail in lieu of a $150K bail amount, while the female suspect was being held at the jail on a $250K bail amount.
