NY Man Allegedly Drunk When He Caused Fatal Car Crash in Woodland Park, NJ

Woodland Park Manslaughter ChargesA New York man was arrested and charged with death by auto after he allegedly caused a car accident on a Woodland Park NJ road that resulted in the death of a passenger.

The single-vehicle crash occurred around 6:15 a.m. on the 800 block of Rifle Camp Road in Woodland Park, NJ.

The suspect, a 29-year-old resident of Tompkins Cove, NY, was driving his 2004 Chevy Impala when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway.

A 20-year-old passenger in the vehicle died due to injuries sustained in the auto accident.

Woodland Park detectives investigated the accident and determined that the suspect was intoxicated when the accident happened.

The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with death by auto. He was also cited for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and other traffic violations.

If the suspect is convicted on the vehicular manslaughter charges, he could potentially be sentenced to 5-10 years in New Jersey State Prison.
