In Newark a 20 year old city man was gunned down while inside a city restaurant Thursday afternoon. According to authorities, Tykwan Crenshaw was inside Royal Chicken on Springfield Avenue when he was shot multiple times shortly before 5 p.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Police Director Eugene Venable said in a joint statement.
Mr. Crenshaw was rushed to the nearby University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 5:21 pm. There have been no arrests made, and police have yet to identify any suspects in the slaying. The investigation led by the prosecutor s office s Major Crimes and Homicide Task Force remains active.
