According to Authorities, a Jersey City man was charged with assaulting a Police Officer in the city on Saturday. The police officer was attempting to speak with Sanabria who, at the time, was a robbery suspect. Sanabria allegedly attacked the officer. According to the complaint, the officer struck Sanabria’s legs with his baton, but he was unaffected. Sanabria then punched the officer twice, knocked him down, jumped on top of him, and continued to punch him in the face while he was on the ground.
The officer needed medical attention for his face, leg and hand. According the complaint, Sanabria was ultimately taken into custody and while in the police car, he told a second officer, “I will kill you I will disarm and kill you… you will pay the price for punching me.
