Clifton NJ Police Officer Injured during Chase of Motorcyclist

Clifton NJ Eluding Police AttorneysA Clifton New Jersey patrol cop suffered serious injuries after he crashed his vehicle while pursuing a suspect on a city street.

According to law enforcement, the Clifton NJ police officer spotted the suspect committing a traffic violation while riding a motorcycle on Grove Street a short time before 8:00 p.m. The subsequent police chase went through Clifton and Paterson.

The police pursuit eventually ended when the Clifton NJ police officer crashed his patrol vehicle on Route 20 in Paterson, NJ.

After the car accident, the police officer was briefly treated at the scene and then rushed to St. Joseph s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. Doctors at the medical facility treated the victim for a serious head injury that he sustained in the auto accident. After being treated for his injuries, the victim remained hospitalized and was listed in stable condition.

Meanwhile, the suspect was eventually apprehended by another Clifton NJ police officer.

The suspect also sustained minor injuries and was briefly treated for his injuries before being turned over to the Clifton Police Department for processing.

The motorcyclist faces charges for eluding police and aggravated assault. He has also been cited for multiple moving violations.
