Clifton NJ Police Arrest Three Suspects Accused of Burglarizing Home, Possessing Handgun

Clifton New Jersey Burglary LawyersPolice in Clifton NJ arrested three people accused of burglarizing a local residence.

According to authorities, the burglary occurred around 4:00 a.m. at a home located near Montclair Avenue and Circle Avenue in Clifton, New Jersey.

The Clifton Police Department received a report of a burglary in progress at the house and dispatched officers to the scene. When Clifton police officers got to the home, they reportedly saw the three suspects hiding behind a van that was parked on Norwood Avenue.

Two of the suspects allegedly fled the scene and tried to run into a nearby yard. Clifton police officers, assisted by officers with the Passaic County Sheriff s Department, were able to establish a perimeter and apprehend the suspects.

When placing the fleeing suspects under arrest, Clifton NJ police allegedly found a handgun that had been hidden in a pile of leaves near the suspects hiding spot.

The suspects include a 15-year-old boy, a 17-year-old boy, and a 20-year-old man.

The 15-year-old suspect has been charged with numerous crimes, including burglary, receiving stolen property, and resisting arrest. He also faces serious charges for intercepting police radio communications because he allegedly had a police radio scanner in his possession.

The other suspects have been charged with burglary, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, illegal possession of a handgun, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

The adult suspect has also been charged with employing a juvenile in the commission of a crime.

After being placed under arrest and processed, the adult suspect was moved to the Passaic County Jail, where he was being held on a $100K bail amount. Meanwhile, the 17-year-old suspect was transported to the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center and the 15-year-old suspect was released into the custody of his guardian.
