North Bergen NJ police arrested a Montclair NJ Man after he allegedly struck seven (7) parked vehicles along 85th Street in North Bergen, New Jersey.
North Bergen police officers were dispatched to 85th Street near Columbia Avenue after receiving a report of a motor vehicle accident. When officers arrived at the scene, they found 33-year-old Laquan McLeod with his 2004 Ford SUV. According to police, Mr. McLeod’s vehicle had sustained heavy damage to both the front and the side.
Officers determined that Mr. McLeod’s SUV struck seven (7) parked vehicles on 85th Street before coming to a stop near Columbia Avenue.
The officers on the scene detected alcohol on Mr. McLeod’s breath. This prompted the officers to administer field sobriety tests. When Mr. McLeod failed the sobriety tests, he was arrested.
Later, at police headquarters, Mr. McLeod was tested again. According to police, Mr. McLeod registered a blood alcohol content of .16, twice the legal limit of .08.
Mr. McLeod was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) and reckless driving.
Mr. McLeod was later released on a summons.
