Man Accused of Distributing Child Pornography in Passaic NJ

A Guatemalan citizen residing in Passaic NJ has been accused of possessing child pornography videos.

31-year-old Alex Hernandez-Soto was arrested at his home by members of the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crime Task Force. The task force had conducted a monthlong investigation into Mr. Hernandez-Soto, who was believed to be distributing illicit materials from his home.

After police served Mr. Hernandez-Soto with a search warrant, they allegedly found in Mr. Hernandez-Soto’s home eight (8) video files depicting minors engaged in sexual activity. According to police, detectives also seized other computer equipment containing child pornography. The computer equipment is undergoing a forensic review.

Mr. Hernandez-Soto has been charged with child pornography possession and child pornography distribution.

After being arrested and charged, Mr. Hernandez-Soto was taken to the Passaic County Jail. Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials have been notified of the arrest and have placed a hold on Mr. Hernandez-Soto.
