Police arrested the man suspected of committing a violent home invasion that was captured on a nanny cam and that garnered national media attention.
Last week, a hidden camera in a Millburn home captured a man breaking in through the home’s front door and attacking a mother in front of her three-year-old daughter. The video showed the man repeatedly punching and kicking the woman in the face and chest before throwing her down the stairs and leaving with jewerly stolen from the home.
On Friday, 42-year-old Shawn Custis was arrested in New Jersey by the Essex County prosecutor’s office and the FBI, departments that had coordinated to make the arrest.
Mr. Custis now faces several charges, including attempted murder, robbery, burglary, andchild endangerment.
According to Essex County authorities, after being arrested Mr. Custis was transported to an undisclosed location in New Jersey.
