Paterson Police responded to a report of an Armed Robbery at 386 Crosby Avenue at around 4:05am. Police were allegedly informed that the suspects were four light-skinned males dressed in all black with masks and a handgun. When Police Officers saw the suspects walking in the road on James Street from Ryerson Avenue, the four suspects began to flee into backyards in the area while Police continued the chase. One suspect dropped a black backpack while running. According to authorities, 21 year-old Melvin Tejada of Prospect Park and 21 year-old Isaiah Moczo of Haledon allegedly hid under a porch in the backyard of 185 Paterson Avenue. In New Jersey, Robbery is a crime of the second degree, except that it is a crime of the first degree if in the course of committing the theft the actor: Attempts to kill anyone; or Purposely inflicts or attempts to inflict serious bodily injury; or Is armed with, or uses, or threatens the immediate use of a deadly weapon.
