Police in West Milford, New Jersey are investigating the death of an elderly man who may have been electrocuted.
The victim was an 85-year-old resident of West Milford in Passaic County, NJ. He lived at a residence on Morsetown Road.
According to law enforcement officials, the victim s body was found halfway in a septic tank at around 5:00 p.m. The victim had reportedly been working on the septic system at his home since early in the morning.
By the time emergency medical responders arrived at the scene, the victim could not be revived. Medical examiners will likely be conducting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
At this time, West Milford detectives do not have any reason to believe that the death was a homicide. However, any official determinations will likely be held off until the results of the autopsy come in.
