Newark NJ Man Pleads Guilty to Robbing Clifton Bank

Clifton NJ Bank Robbery SuspectA Newark NJ man pleaded guilty to robbing multiple banks throughout New Jersey, including a bank in Clifton.

The suspect is a 39-year-old resident of Newark, New Jersey. He was arrested in September 2016 and charged with four counts of bank robbery.

According to law enforcement, the suspect committed the theft crimes over the summer at banks located in Lyndhurst, Clifton, and Kearny. Those banks included the M&T Bank in Lyndhurst NJ, the Capital One Bank in Clifton NJ, and the Schuyler Savings Bank on Davis Avenue in Kearny, NJ. The suspect reportedly robbed the Kearny bank twice.

Police officers with multiple local law enforcement agencies investigated the robberies and eventually captured the suspect.

Now the suspect has reportedly admitted to having committed the thefts and pleaded guilty to multiple counts of bank robbery.

When the suspect appears in federal court in August, he could potentially be sentenced to 20 years behind bars. Additionally, the suspect faces fines totaling more than $250,000.
