West Milford Couple Accused of Committing Burglary Spree in Passaic County, NJ

West Milford NJ Burglary LawyersLaw enforcement recently arrested two people accused of committing a burglary spree in Passaic County, New Jersey.

The suspects are a 38-year-old West Milford man and his 34-year-old wife. According to authorities, the husband-and-wife crime duo burglarized at least five homes in West Milford and Ringwood over a two-week period. The suspects allegedly used a flathead screwdriver to pry open windows in the homes.

Detectives with the West Milford Police Department and the Ringwood Police Department worked together on the joint investigation into the burglaries. Law enforcement eventually received a tip from citizens who noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in West Milford, NJ.

Police officers then conducted surveillance of a gray Honda Civic owned by the suspects and later followed the vehicle to a jewelry store located in Oakland, NJ. That s where the suspects were reportedly planning to sell some of the valuables that they had stolen from a Hewitt NJ resident earlier that same day.

A subsequent search of the suspects car allegedly turned up more stolen items, in addition to various burglary tools.

The suspects were placed under arrest and charged with five counts of burglary, theft of movable property, and criminal mischief.

After being arrested and charged, the suspects spoke to detectives and reportedly confessed to having committed the theft crimes.
