Passaic County law enforcement recently arrested four people who are accused of being part of a major cocaine distribution operation.
The suspects allegedly sold cocaine throughout Passaic County, including Clifton, Passaic, and Belleville. The Passaic County Prosecutor s Office opened an investigation into the alleged drug ring after receiving information about illegal drug activity. The Passaic County Prosecutor s Office worked with the Passaic Police Department, the Clifton Police Department, and the NJ Division of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) on an exhaustive investigation into the suspects. After six months, investigators determined that enough evidence existed to arrest the suspects in connection with the cocaine distribution ring.
Law enforcement executed 10 different search warrants at locations throughout Passaic County and placed the suspects under arrest.
The suspects include a 37-year-old Clifton man, a 29-year-old man from Passaic NJ, a 42-year-old Belleville man, and a 59-year-old male from Passaic. All of the suspects have been charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
The 29-year-old Passaic suspect has also been charged with obstruction of justice for allegedly tampering with evidence in the case. Additionally, the Belleville NJ suspect faces criminal charges for resisting arrest because he reportedly tried to evade police prior to being apprehended.
Passaic County NJ authorities expect to make more arrests in connection with the drug operation in the coming weeks.
