Paterson NJ police arrested a local man who allegedly possessed large quantities of illegal drugs, as well as an illegal handgun.
According to authorities, detectives with the Paterson Police Department Major Crimes Division were conducting surveillance near Auburn Street in Paterson NJ when they spotted the suspect selling heroin.
The Paterson detectives attempted to stop the suspect, but he reportedly fled the scene and ran into a nearby building. Police officers followed the suspect into the building and upstairs to a third-floor apartment, where the suspect was reportedly trying to hide from law enforcement.
When Paterson NJ police officers later searched the apartment, they allegedly discovered 1,107 glassines of heroin and 48 vials of crack cocaine. Police also allegedly found an unregistered .380-caliber Jennings handgun that was loaded with ammunition.
The suspect, a 19-year-old man from Prospect Park NJ, has been charged with multiple criminal offenses, including heroin distribution, possession of crack cocaine, and illegal handgun possession.
