Police Search for Man Who Robbed TD Bank in Hawthorne, New Jersey

Hawthorne NJ Bank Robbery AttorneysPolice in Hawthorne New Jersey are searching for a man who allegedly committed a robbery at a local TD Bank.

The theft incident occurred just before 4:30 p.m. According to law enforcement, the suspect walked into the TD Bank located at 617 Lafayette Avenue in Hawthorne NJ and approached a bank teller. The suspect allegedly handed a note to the bank employee and demanded that she hand over cash.

The suspect reportedly got an undisclosed amount of money and then exited the Hawthorne bank. He was seen getting into a black Mitsubishi and then driving off.

Thankfully, no one was injured during the bank robbery. It is not believed that the suspect was armed with a deadly weapon during the theft incident.

At this time, the Hawthorne Police Department is actively investigating the bank robbery. Authorities have yet to release any information about the suspect.

If police can eventually identify and apprehend the suspect, he would likely face serious criminal charges for robbery. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1, a person who puts someone in fear of immediate bodily injury while committing a theft can be charged with a second degree crime. A conviction on second degree robbery charges could lead to a sentence of 5-10 years in New Jersey State Prison.
