Oak Ridge NJ Man Charged with Assault, Accused of Driving into Pedestrian at West Milford Gas Station

West Milford Aggravated Assault AttorneysAn Oak Ridge NJ man faces aggravated assault charges after he allegedly tried to run down a pedestrian in West Milford, New Jersey.

According to law enforcement, the 24-year-old suspect committed the assault around 5:00 a.m. at an Exxon gas station located at Lakeside Road and Greenwood Lake Turnpike in West Milford, NJ. The suspect reportedly drove his car into the 22-year-old victim, pinning him against a metal fence.

Afterwards, the suspect reportedly drove off and fled the scene.

West Milford police were notified of the incident a short time later. After speaking with the victim, West Milford investigators concluded that the suspect s actions were intentional and that he had purposefully driven into the victim. The victim told police that he had been involved in a verbal altercation with the suspect prior to the attack.

West Milford police officers looked at video surveillance footage of the incident and identified the suspect. Police later found the suspect and placed him under arrest.

The suspect lives in Oak Ridge, which is a community located on the border of West Milford and Jefferson Township, NJ. He has been charged with aggravated assault. He has also been cited for multiple traffic violations, including leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, and failure to report an accident.

After being arrested and processed, the suspect secured his release from police custody by posting a $5K bail amount. He will have to make an appearance in Passaic County Superior Court, located in Paterson NJ, at a later date in order to answer the charges against him.
