Man Shot In Vehicle By Passerby In Paterson

A 31 year old man was shot by someone in the arm last night in Paterson, Paterson Police said. Police Officers responded to Broadway and Madison Avenue at 6:15pm after someone reported that a man had been found with a gunshot to his upper arm. Patrick Murray had added. The man was transported to St. Josephs Regional for the gunshot and was listed as being stable today. The investigation has found that the man was near 12th Avenue and East 22nd Street when he was approached in his car by a man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. The man walked up and shot into the vehicle and he was shot in the arm. The victim then drove to a nearby gas station on Broadway and Madison Avenue and attempted to get help.

The charges are stratified and range from crimes of the first degree to a crime of the 4th degree. The charges in this case are deemed to be a crime of the 2nd degree. A person found guilty of a crime of the 2nd degree will be looking at 5 to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison.
