New Milford Bank Robbed By Man With Painted Beard

A New Milford bank was robbed Friday morning and $4,800 was stolen. The robber who was dressed nicely walked into Hudson City Savings Bank which is on the corner of Henley Avenue and River Road. The robber who is black and had a painted on beard and was in his late 20 s went into the bank and demanded money. New Milford Detective Kevin Van Saders said he didn t threaten anybody, but he was insistent. New Milford Police are still looking for the alleged robber. He was last seen wearing a green cardigan sweater with a tan shirt underneath as well, he had khaki pants and light blue glasses.

Under N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1 which is Robbery. Robbery involves the threatening or inflicting another person in order to commit a theft. Robbery is a crime of the 2nd degree, though when a person attempts to kill someone or is armed with a weapon. A crime of the 2nd degree if found guilty is punishable by 5 to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison. Also included is (N.E.R.A) with the defendant having to serve 85% of their sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
