Little Ferry Man Arrested Again For Entering Alpine Estate

A Little Ferry man has been arrested for the second time after attempting again to break into Bergen County s most expensive home. This is Ho Jin Lee s second attempt in less than three weeks to gain entry to the sprawling estate nestled in Alpine. Ho Jin Lee was taken ahold of by a property manager on the estate, when he saw Lee break into a window in the back of the home. Police were then dispatched to the home at 7:41pm, Alpine Chief of Police Christopher Belcolle said. Mr. Lee is being held on $35,000 bail at the Bergen County Jail. He has also been charged with burglary, trespassing, assault on police, and criminal mischief.

Under N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2 which is burglary, a person will be found trespassing and breaking and entering a premises that they were not authorized to enter. It is a crime of the 3rd degree for attempting and also entering to enter the premises. It is a crime of the 2nd degree if someone is injured or threatened in the attempt of the burglary. A crime of the 3rd degree is punishable by 3 to 5 years in New Jersey State Prison

Under N.J.S.A. 2C:18-3a which is trespassing, it involves entering the property that a person is not authorized to be on. It is a crime of the 4th degree when a person enters the property of a home they are not allowed to be on or near. A crime of the 4th degree if found guilty in New Jersey a person is looking at up to 18 months in New Jersey State Prison.

Under N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1b(5)(a) which is aggravated assault on a Police Officer, it involves the assault of any member of law enforcement. It is a very serious offense and if found guilty a person is looking at a crime of the 3rd degree if the officer is harmed, and a crime of the 4th degree if the officer is not harmed. A crime of the 3rd degree if found guilty is punishable by 3 to 5 years in New Jersey State Prison. A crime of the 4th degree if found guilty is punishable by up to 18 months in New Jersey State Prison.

Under N.J.S.A. 2C:17-3 which is criminal mischief. which involves knowingly damaging the property of another. This statute is graded, and a person will be found guilty of a crime of the 3rd degree if the cost was more than $2,000. It becomes a crime of the 4th degree when the cost was more than $500 and less than $2000. If the cost was less than $500 it becomes a disorderly person offense. If found guilty of a crime of the 3rd degree a person will be looking at 3 to 5 years in New Jersey State Prison. If found guilty of a crime of the 4th degree, a person will be looking at up to 18 months in New Jersey State Prison. A person found guilty of a disorderly persons offense will be looking at up to 6 months in county jail.
