Fairfield Deputy Police Chief Anthony Manna said that officers discovered approximately 10 pounds of marijuana when it arrived at a township FedEx location on Monday.
The seizure marks the second time a large shipment of the drug has passed through the facility on its way to Paterson in recent days.
Both packages were shipped from California, and it is not clear whether they are connected. An investigation remains active, and police have not announced any arrests related to the seizures.
“The investigation is ongoing and no further details will be released” Manna said in a statement. “But it is obvious that we have disrupted, to some extent, a supply line of marijuana into New Jersey.”
